Apart from its durability and ecological compatibility, it is the outstanding processing properties, which make RHEINZINK the preferred material for high-quality, first-class projects. Consequently, various joining techniques such as seaming, edging or soldering can be used, to realize individual solutions with sheet metal or system engineering for even the most complicated projects.
Recommendations for soldering
for RHEINZINK-Bright Rolled surfaces
RHEINZINK-"Preweathered-pro Blue Gray"
The following steps are recommended for the preparation of a qualitatively high-quality and durable soldered seam on RHEINZINK products:
- Soldered seam over lap of metal parts 3/8" - 9/16" (10 mm -15 mm)
- Moisten soldered seam area with soldering flux
- Soldering bit (> 350 g) - test the required soldering temperature with sal amoniac block (light smoke)
- Solder by slowly and evenly guiding the soldering bit while introducing solder (S-Sn40 Pb 60 according to DIN En 29453,Sb low antimony)
- Important: Sufficient temperature in the soldering area - can be monitored by a visible full surface flow of solder in the soldering area.
- On completion of work, soldering flux residue is cleaned from the soldered seam with a moist cloth.
