RHEINZINK® Material
As a result of its exceptional processing properties, extraordinary durability and exemplary ecological compatibility, RHEINZINK® material has proven to be an ideal, durable, weatherproof material for high-grade roofing, façade cladding and gutter systems. Over time, RHEINZINK®-Titanium zinc forms an unstructured protective layer, uniform in appearance, from basic zinc carbonate – the patina. The patina, which develops as a result of weathering, lends RHEINZINK®-Products their anticorrosive properties – thus, little or no maintenance or cleaning is required during their lifetime.
RHEINZINK® "Pre-weathering"
For projects that require the look of a "finished" RHEINZINK®-surface patina upon completion of installation, RHEINZINK has developed a technique known as "preweathering". This process, which is unique worldwide, allows for controlled development of the surface. As there isn't any coating involved in the "pre-weathering" process, the elemental properties of zinc aren't influenced in any way. Natural weathering sets in and the protective patina is formed, just as it would if the material were bright-rolled.
Continued Improvement
An innovative organic surface treatment further optimizes the transportation, storage and processing properties of the "pre-weathered" material: it is covered with a temporary protective film called "pro", which largely prevents markings, such as fingerprints, from appearing on the material.
